THE STORY BEHIND THE “CHEERFUL HEART PROJECT”
One morning Jenson told us that he'd been "praying for the children in the hospital." It was that time of the year between Thanksgiving and Christmas when there are lots of St. Jude commercials on TV. (That's what prompted Jenson's prayers.)
Now with just a few weeks until Christmas, Jenson asked us if we could send Christmas cards to the children. While it was a great idea, time wasn't on our side. So Darla suggested Valentine cards instead which would give us a few months to prepare.
Jenson's Valentine cards soon turned into a message of encouragement when Darla suggested adding the Proverbs 17:22 verse.
And so the "Cheerful Heart Project" was born. From the mind of a young man with Cerebral Palsy who decided he needed to pray for the children.
It's a simple idea: color and share your cheerful heart artwork with someone who needs a little extra cheer!
There's only one rule, though. Jenson says, "You can't use black or gray crayons. Keep it colorful!"
