Now I’ve heard a legend of love and goodwill
From the Smoky Mountains to Hollywood Hills
They call her Dolly, she’ll play you a song
Make you feel real special just like you belong
Rags to riches story grounded in faith
She turned the whole world into her stage
Entertainer with an electric smile
Sense of humor and fancy style
Leaving only glitter with nothing to prove
I wanna little bit of that too
I wanna do what Dolly would do
Write feel good music, wear high heel shoes
Spend my money just to look this cheap
Diamond rings, lots of rhinestone dreams
I wanna do what Dolly would do
See life is short, so honey show off soon
Money’d be nice, but it don’t pay
Just be yourself, that’s what she’d say
So that’s exactly what I’m gonna do
Cause that’s what Dolly would do
Ooo-whoo-hoo-ooo
Cause that’s what Dolly would do
Lots of words of wisdom when she speaks
Like dreams will never fly if you clip their wings
If you’re scared, still try, just try it brave
If you wanna have a rainbow, you put up with rain
Wear your makeup, girls, glitter and shine
Make your living every 9 to 5
Be an eagle every time you fly
Believe there is no mountain that you cannot climb
Leaving only glitter with nothing to prove
You could do a little of that too
I wanna do what Dolly would do
Write feel good music, wear high heel shoes
Spend my money just to look this cheap
Diamond rings, lots of rhinestone dreams
I wanna do what Dolly would do
See life is short, so honey show off soon
Money’d be nice, but it don’t pay
Just be yourself, that’s what she’d say
So that’s exactly what I’m gonna do
Cause that’s what Dolly would do
Ooo-whoo-hoo-ooo
Cause that’s what Dolly would do
Ooo-whoo-hoo-ooo
Cause that’s what Dolly would do
